The Story starts out with Kala, a 17-year-ols girl walking back home from school with her sister age 10. Her little sister was worried that her father will scold her because of her exam score. Kala tried to console her sister but she too knows what awaits them. Her father will also scold her for failing to teach her sister properly and she believes that her sister's exam score will interfere with her plans on going to Bali with her classmates during the new year. Her fears came true and her father blames her for her sister's score and refuses to let her go enjoy her new years. She informs her friend with the bad news, but later an acquaintance of hers Gavin with 2 other friends, Ingrid and Ezra, came to "kidnap" her into this trip. With his hand stretched out to her, she decides to take his hand and escape her cage. She gets to Bali and spends some fun time with her friends. Eventually all fun things must come to an end. Her father confronted her at the beach in Bali and slapped her in front of her friends. Kala gets angry with her dad and runs off and falls into the water. She starts panicking because she doesn't know how to swim, but she is then rescued by a green-eyed brown-haired hunk. She informs how she ran from home. As she's walking along the beach, she heard that it was 2021. She asked the hunk to pinch her and he did. He asks if she's a ghost because she has the same bracelet that his friend had seven years ago. He also mentions that her situation is the same as his friend's seven years ago. He managed to tie the pieces together and ask if her name is Kala. She says yes and he lets her know his name is Ezra and that she went missing seven years ago at the beach.
